La Safor is a fast growing
and popular area for the British. It is situated in the Costa
del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast), which stretches southwards for
70 miles from Vinaros North of Valencia to Denia on the
Costa Blanca. La Safor has some of the best Blue Flag beaches in
Europe and statistics show that it has one of the best climates in the
world. The historic town of Gandia is the capital of La Safor. Gandia is a bustling Mediterranean town offering great shopping and countless bars and restaurants. Gandia has one of the best beaches in the area and has for many years been the favourite holiday destination for Spanish people. There is an excellent rail link to Valencia with trains every 30 minutes and very low fares. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and has been described as "Paris with palm trees". Attractions include its stunning Victorian railway station, Roman bullring and its newly opened science park, Aquarium and Planetarium. You can spend hours shopping in its bustling streets or just relax at one of its many pavement bars. Valencia has been chosen again to host the Americas Cup in 2011 with the Yacht Club at Gandia co-hosting part of the event. This is yet another boost for Valencia, Gandia and the La Safor area. The benefits for the local economy in general and property prices in particular are expected to be substantial. If you wish to learn more about our region, culture why not visit our links page here!
